Our comprehensive approach to internal medicine allows us to provide a number of care visits tailored to our patients’ needs. Learn more about each appointment below to see what best suits you:
- Acute visits: We offer acute visits for all patients for internal medicine in Navarre. We recommend contacting us as early as possible to increase your chance of getting a same-day or next-day appointment. If we cannot get you an appointment promptly, we will refer you to an urgent care center.
- Nurse visits: Nurse visits are straightforward appointments administered by an LPN or CMA. Our nurse will provide the same care and attention as our doctor. Depending on your insurance policy, you may be subject to a copay for a nurse visit. This does not apply to an immunization-only visit. Please note that when you come in for a blood pressure check, it will be billed as a nurse visit or possibly a doctor’s visit if Dr. Curtsinger has to see you for a medication change discussion, etc.
- Lab/Imaging results: If your results are abnormal or require additional follow-up, you will need to schedule an appointment at Dr. Curtsinger’s discretion. If your results are normal and do not require follow-up, we will send them to you via the patient portal (if you’re enrolled) or contact you directly via phone or mail.
- Preventative visits: We conduct an exam based on your age and sex. During this exam, we provide guidance on maintaining healthy habits and cultivating positive living choices. We prioritize identifying risk factors by performing screening tests based on age, sex, and lifestyle. Lastly, we keep your immunizations current based on age and sex.
Preventative care does not include discussions of any new health problem, illness, or injury, or the management of chronic, ongoing health problems and/or medications.
If time permits, we can discuss concerns not covered under a preventive visit. In this case, we will change your visit to a problem-focused visit, and you will be responsible for a copay/coinsurance/deductible as defined by your insurance.
Please inform the nurse if you require a preventative visit for your insurance, work, etc. In this case, we can only focus on matters covered in a typical preventative visit. You can then schedule a follow-up/acute visit to discuss any other concerns if needed, or vice versa.
