We examine your child’s overall health at each visit, starting with their growth and development. Checking height, weight, and growth charts tells us if they’re on track and if nutrition can aid their development. This can include what they’re eating, how much, and whether there are any habits we can manage.

A healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body, which is why we also examine their physical activity and mental well-being. We do a thorough physical exam from head to toe, checking reflexes, heart and lung sounds, vision, and more.

These visits are an excellent time for parents to ask questions, share concerns, and get advice tailored to their child’s age and stage of life.

Dr. Curtsinger follows CDC immunization guidelines from age 3 to age 6. Vaccines guard against serious illnesses like measles, polio, whooping cough, etc.

In addition to the standard schedule, Dr. Curtsinger recommends annual flu shots and vaccines for Hepatitis A, Meningitis, and HPV when your child reaches the appropriate age. These extra layers of protection help keep your child safe, especially as they start school or get more involved in group activities.

While we don’t accept walk-ins, we do our best to accommodate families who need pediatrics in Navarre. We kindly ask patients to schedule all visits in advance. We keep a few spots open each day for unexpected sniffles, fevers, or sudden concerns that may arise.

Call us if your child feels under the weather or if something is wrong! We’ll do everything we can to see you the same day. If we’re booked, we can offer the next available appointment—usually the following day. Your little one doesn’t have to wait long to receive quality care.

• Blood glucose or A1C screenings

Our team works to identify common illnesses and conditions early. We also screen for anxiety and depression. Mental health matters as much as physical health, especially during critical development years.

We carefully select tests based on your child’s age, symptoms, and wellness needs.

We provide sports physicals during the Well Child Check (WCC) visit. If your child has already completed a WCC within the past year, that visit counts as their sports physical. We fill out the necessary forms using the information from that appointment, so there’s no need to schedule a separate visit.

Remember that sports physicals are valid for one year after the the date of service for the WCC. Call us if your child needs updated paperwork or a new exam to stay active and cleared for their sport.
